class types

At Egg of the Universe we know that every-body is different and so we have a range of class types to suit.  From classes designed for those at the start of their yoga journey, to classes for seasoned practitioners.. or those wishing to simply slow it down and restore – we have a class for you.

Our Essentials classes are highly recommended for those who are new to yoga or transitioning from a more static yoga practice like Bikram, Iyengar, or Hatha Yoga.

Each Essentials class has a particular thematic focus following a rolling four-week curriculum, which students can join whenever they like.

In our Essentials classes you’ll be exposed to all the techniques you’ll need to ensure a safe and healthy practice for years to come. You’ll discover ways to modify your practice so that it is less strenuous, while cultivating a strong foundation aimed at setting you up for success as you move forward in your yoga practice.

Essentials classes are also great if you’re recovering from injury, returning to practice after a yoga sabbatical, or simply want to enjoy your practice with less intensity.

Vinyasa Flow

Welcoming yogis of all levels, our Vinyasa Flow classes offer a comprehensive introduction to the fluid movements of yoga. Centred around the rhythmic sequence of Sun Salutations, each session encompasses a diverse range of poses including standing and balancing postures, bends, twists, arm balances, and inversions, culminating in deep relaxation.

As you move from one pose to another, the synchronisation of breath and movement fosters a calming, meditative state. Each class varies slightly with the unique touch of our teachers, providing insights into the essence of Vinyasa Flow.

If you’re brand new to Vinyasa Flow, you may like to try an Essentials class first to learn valuable techniques that will allow you to relax into the flow of an open class with more confidence. You are also welcome to dive right in and take these classes at your own pace. The teacher will be there to support you!

Power Vinyasa

Elevate your yoga practice with our Power Vinyasa classes, ideal for those who enjoy a warmth and a challenge.

Set in a comfortably heated room of 28-30ºC, This dynamic style will invite you to explore your physical boundaries with playful challenges and safe progression.

Our experienced teachers guide you through seamless transitions between Asanas, including standing poses, balances, twists, and inversions. This full-body experience enhances strength, flexibility, and mental focus, making each session both challenging and rewarding.

Power Vinyasa is perfect for yogis of all levels looking to deepen their practice and achieve new heights of physical and mental fitness. It’s an ideal playground for both body and mind.

Join us and transform your yoga journey.

Yin Yoga is the polar opposite to our dynamic flowing classes and a superb complement to the more “yang” style of Vinyasa Flow yoga.

Yin classes involve long, luxurious holds in restorative forward bends and hip openers. Quieting the mind, focusing on the breath and reducing tension is the supreme focus of these classes as you work toward deep relaxation. A must for all yogis, beginner to advanced!

Similar to Yin, Stretch is a floor based class with all the usual yin props but with a more active approach to stretching your body.

A great stepping stone between Vinyasa class and Yin or simply for this who enjoy more active stretching.

All experience levels welcome.

Yoga can support your health and well-being on many different levels throughout your pregnancy and is an excellent way to nourish mother-to-be and baby within.

It’s an ideal preparatory exercise while pregnant, combining strength building with the opportunity to relax and let go. It also offers a chance to practise useful skills for birthing. We offer specialist training in cultivating breath awareness, strength, flexibility and the necessary surrender for mothers-to-be.

Chill Flow

Chill Flow yoga is exactly as it sounds, a vinyasa class with slower and juicier movements to get into the hips and unwind the body at the end of the day.

Enough movement to get the body warm and supple then finishing with a few yin shapes to bring the nervous system down and leave you feeling relaxed.

Embodied Flow

Embodied Flow is an integrative blend of hatha yoga, somatics, movement meditations, tantric philosophy, and transpersonal psychology that elicits the experience of stepping into flow as meditation in action.
