A Psoas Workshop
To find freedom in our bodies and our practice and to invoke and sustain the qualities of groundedness, stability and calm we need the psoas to be both strong and flexible.
In this workshop we will dive into the world of the psoas, discover how important it is to our overall health and wellbeing and explore ways to tone and release this mighty and mysterious muscle through asana, breath work and relaxation.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The psoas is a muscle that is not only integral to our posture, spinal health and hip mobility but also deeply influences many systems in our body including our nervous and immune systems. The psoas also has a large role to play in our emotional state and overall wellbeing.
The psoas is THE postural muscle of the body, arguably the most influential skeletal muscle and is also known as the muscle of the soul! Unfortunately, with our modern lifestyle the psoas is tight and weak for almost everyone.
To find freedom in our bodies and practice and to invoke and sustain the qualities of groundedness, stability and calm we need the psoas to be both strong and flexible.
In this workshop we will dive into the world of the psoas to discover how it can impact our overall health and wellbeing. We will explore ways to tone and release the psoas through asana, breath work and relaxation.
This workshop will bring us into deeper connection with this mighty and mysterious muscle and in turn into a deeper connection with ourselves.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER
Jo is a senior teacher at Egg of the Universe and has been teaching for over 15 years. She has a background in physiotherapy and a passion for anatomy, learning and teaching.
Jo believes that yoga is for everyone and for a lifetime, and that the best way to realise this is by learning more about the body generally and, most importantly, our own individual embodiment. As we bring this knowledge to our practice, we strengthen our connection to self and open the doorway to move beyond the physical into the deeper layers of mind, emotion, energy, spirit and ultimately wholeness.
Jo’s classes are creative, challenging but fun. They are intelligently structured and sequenced to seamlessly unfold the physical and take you on a journey that ultimately guides you toward healing and wholeness…body, mind and spirit.
