Workshop Details:August 27th – ShouldersSeptember 10th – Hips
October 22nd – Core
These workshops are designed to help you understand how to build strength for a deeper, more controlled practice through looking at the technically challenging foundational poses, considering the strength required to perform each one well and then sharing with you the tools and techniques you can use to improve your form and control around these shapes.
This 3 part series will be run by our Sports Chiropractor and strength and movement specialist, Scott Bessant who has worked within the yoga community teaching yogis to better understand the importance of strength in the perfect practice for several years.
Our first workshop looked at the importance of shoulder strength through poses including chaturanga, side plank and some arm balances.
The second workshop focused on the importance of hip strength focusing on the Warrior Poses.
The third workshop will focus on the importance of Core Strength throughout your practice. A strong Core will improve every aspect of your practice so learn how to optimise your core strength for your practice.
In these workshops, you will take away:
- An in-depth understanding of how the focused area functions through these poses and what commonly goes wrong leading to weakness and injury.
- How to prepare these areas through activation exercises that will lead to engagement to support a deeper practice.
- Exercises that will help to develop your strength that you can perform with minimal equipment to support these challenging poses.
This workshop will benefit all levels of practice and is great for those who have experienced any challenge, pain or limitation in practice.
If strength work is something you have not considered in your journey through yoga, this workshop is absolutely right for you.
