Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, and the daughter of a yoga teacher and a sailor, Roxanne fostered a deep love of movement at an early age. Having trained in both ballet and contemporary, and later Flamenco dance styles, and subsequently performing internationally, her fascination with the transformative and healing nature of movement eventually led her back to her roots and thus she completed her formal yoga teacher qualification in 2017. Since then, Roxanne has enjoyed an international career teaching yoga full time and has completed further trainings in Yin yoga, Mat Pilates, Rebounding and is currently busy with an Advanced Diploma in Holistic Classical yoga practices.
Roxanne teaches a class a strong, dynamic class with emphasis on breath awareness and attention to detail and alignment, thus instilling a sense of empowerment in her students’ and ensuring that they have a well-grounded understanding of the spirit of yoga. Passionate about sequencing and anatomy, Roxanne draws on many different movement styles to create fun and challenging classes that encourage students to go beyond their perceived limitations. She believes that yoga, in its myriad of practices, is a powerful tool that can be used to better not just the individual, but ultimately the world, and thus she is passionate about sharing these tools with others and being an example and community leader both on and off the mat.
